Abstract
The early years of the Muslim’s migration (Hijra) to Medina, according to historical sources, constituted one of the sensitive and difficult economic periods for them. As the leader of the Muslims, the Prophet undertook managerial actions in the cultural, social, political, and economic spheres to navigate the community through these challenging conditions. The objective of the present research is to examine the Prophet’s managerial actions in the aforementioned spheres and to answer the question: Which actions of the Prophet played a greater role in alleviating the economic hardship of vulnerable strata? To obtain an answer to this question, the grounded theory methodology of Strauss and Corbin was utilized. The findings obtained indicate that the Prophet’s cultural actions, with 99.9% frequency, and the greatest share in reducing suffering and managing vulnerable strata. The conclusion is that within the Prophet’s managerial approach, a people- centered approach and cultural development- through trust in the people and the development of human capacities- are considered the foundation and basis for solving economic problems. Consequently, precise planning must be designed in the field of culture to resolve them.
