Attendence of the Europian missionary – guidancing groups in Iran, is one of the remarkable discussions in the Safavid history, and the Carmelites were the most important group among them. The Carmelite, as a Catholic group and an emissary by the Pope, to establish Unity between Iran and Europian States against Ottoman‚ also promoting Catholic religion‚ came Iran under Shah Abbas I‚ and to materialize these aims‚ They embarked different activities‚ and were always supported by the Safavids’ Kings before their fall. Therefore‚ they could have an active enduring presence in Iran to the end of Safavid’s era and even after it. The Carmelites’ presence and their activities in the Safavid’s era Iran had Consequencies in different political‚ cultural‚ social and religious fields‚ while mostly in the direction of the Pope’s aims and some Europian states.
