The Turkmen, following the tradition of the tribes and clans living on the borders of Khorasan with Central Asia, carried out extensive raids on the eastern and northeastern regions of Iran. In their raids, they invaded all the eastern and northeastern regions of the Qajar government, plundered the property and livestock of the residents, and enslaved the people living in these areas. Using a descriptive-analytical method, the present study seeks to answer the question of what methods and tactics the Turkmen used in raids on different regions of Iran? The findings of the study show that they considered attacks on the Iranians as a holy war and used effective military and combat tools, including Turkmen horses, attack plans, stealth, intelligence gathering, and surprise attacks. With the necessary care and caution they used in this way, they greatly increased their success rate. This action was called Alamanni, which was carried out with a surprise and quick ambush and caused great damage.
