Medicine and Physicians during the rule of the Al-e Muzaffar dynasty(1296 – 1373)

One of the important aspects of people's lives in different periods has been the science of medicine and the treatment system of physicians. As one of the prominent scientific strata, physicians have always enjoyed a high position in Iranian society, and due to the importance of physical health for everyone, most rulers and different social classes paid special attention to them. The main purpose of this article is, on the one hand, to examine the position of doctors, their medical practices, and their writings, to identify the types of diseases and their treatment in this era, and on the other hand, to investigate how the Al-Muzaffar family supported the science of medicine and physicians..Conducted with a descriptive-analytical approach and employing historical research method and library resources, the findings of the research indicated the role of Al-e-Muzaffar rulers in promoting science, founding educational institutions and their political requirements in enhancing the position of intelligents and the presence of prominent physicians close to Muzaffari rulers with authentic and valuable medical books dedicated to Muzaffarids, treatment of diseases and eyeful progress in some medical branches such as anatomy, undertaking political ground rules, and ultimately the role-playing of poet-physicians in this turbulent time...
