Presenting a true and accurate portrait of Abu Talib (AS) from the pages of history is a path to accurately knowing him and judging his faith in the Great Prophet (PBUH) and is a step in the historical documentation of narrations about him.The books of Tarikh Ya'qubi and Tarikh Tabari have reported reports of the periods of Abu Talib's life. However, their reports are different and each one has referred to a level of his face and drawn a character of Abu Talib. This article has quoted, compared and analyzed the reports of these two books and has reported his character in a library study using a descriptive-analytical method. The reports of Ya'qubi are detailed along with mentioning the poems and sermons of Abu Talib in support of the Prophet (PBUH), which results in drawing the face of Abu Talib as a brave person and a full-fledged supporter of the Prophet (PBUH).However, Tabari's reports of Abu Talib are brief, without mentioning his practical support of the Prophet (PBUH) and without considering his belief and faith.
